This week the Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty announced that it has plans to create Nurse Practitioner-led clinics and to allow pharmacists to prescribe certain medications. Should pharmacists prescribe medication without a doctor’s prescription and should nurse practitioners lead Ontario’s health teams? That is a question posed by the Chair of the Section on General & Family Practice at the Ontario Medical Association.
